"Hn... ah." He sat up and looked around. The room was dark, and the heat was oppressive. "Niisan?" He reached out to shake his older brother's shoulder and was met only with a lump of blankets. He sighed and pushed his own blanket onto the floor and stood using the wall for support. He made his way to the door and peered out into the hallway. The large door that led outside was open.

"Niisan..." He dressed quickly, twice interrupted by a fit of coughing. The house was quiet except for the drone of cicadas. He covered his nose and mouth with a paper mask and slowly made his way to the large door. There was a dark figure silhouetted against the water just beyond the front steps. He smiled as a sense of calm washed over him and carefully descended the stone steps which had been dampened by a summer rain. Once he was a little closer he called out to the figure. "Niisan!" It turned and he gasped as he stumbled on a root. Strong hands caught him before he could fall.

"Rex, you're not supposed to be outside." The figure chided softly, voice warm and inviting. He wrapped his arms around the figure and hid his face against its shoulder.

"Niisan..." He paused and glanced at the water. Four paper lanterns were floating in the water. The wind blew through the trees, sounding like a mournful wail and pushed the tiny lights further from the shore. "What are those?"

"They are the spirits of those who have died. I'm sending them back where they belong." One lantren still rested at their feet.

"Why, niisan?"

The figure smiled and ruffled his hair. He cried out in annoyance. "These spirits are restless. They need to be shown the way to the afterlife."

"Oh..." He watched the lights grow smaller and dimmer. The sharp cry of a crow pierced the still night and he tightened his grip on the pitch black figure which eclipsed even the light of the full moon. The final lantern was scooped up and pressed into his hands.

"Guide me to the afterlife, Rex." Before he could ask the meaning of such words, he was gently guided to the edge of the water. The water shone brighter then the moon, reflecting a hundred different colors at once. He bent down and set the lantern afloat, barely disturbing the serene surface of the water. He turned back to the figure, smiling triumphantly... and gasped, recoiling at what he saw. The figure had grown many times his height into a twisted shape of a muscular man. It stared at him with ice blue eyes surrounded by nothing but darkness. Grey hair stuck out from its head and trailed down one shoulder in a long pony tail. Red lines crossed its body and marked its face in an intricate design. He stepped backwards towards the water.

"No!" And a hand grabbed his arm, pulling him away from the water's edge. "Rex..." Gone was the kindness and warmth he had felt moments before. The figure spoke with a rough and weary voice. "Keep the promise you made to me, Rex. No matter what."

"Ni...niisan!" He reached for the figure again and cried out as pain arced through his left arm. He held it up and gasped at the symbol reveled there. "Niisan, your birthmark!"

The figure smiled sadly and shook its head. "I chose the path of darkness, Rex. Take that, gather the others like it and defeat us. Only then can we rest in peace."

"Niisan!" Another mournful wail echoed through the trees and he turned his gaze skyward to see a great crimson dragon soaring overhead. He looked back and reached for the figure again. It shook its head and he watched in horror as it crumbled, dissolving into a million tiny spiders which raced into the trees. "NIISAN!"
Hi guys :D As most of you know, I live in Central Ohio. My family and I are very much in a landlocked position. Sunday, we got hit by Hurricane Ike.

Winds exceeding 80mph knocked out electricity all over the state; damage is equivalent to an F1 tornado; 270,000 without power. I'm posting from a local dining establishment with unsecured Wi-Fi :'D Could be up to 10 days before we're restored.

ILU everyone ; 3;

Yeah, so. This journal is pretty much abandoned and I'm only on LJ to prod people on PtDC.
Timothy Treadwall was a highly delusional man. I disagree with the movie that was made on him and I dislike the repeated showings of Discovery Channel's special. I am disappointed in his family for not intervening on his behalf when the man was clearly troubled, and appalled that they can talk about in with such flowery terms. I hope no one else in this world is stupid enough to follow in his footsteps, but a quick search on Google confirms that there has been - all ending up as an MRE for a hungry "teddy" bear.

Ah. My faith in humanity just died a little. At least Treadwall removed himself favorably from the gene pool.

My hand hurts. Why do I always pick the teachers that have me keep journals for my readings?

On the plus side, 500 pages and some later, I'm caught up with all my readings though Spring Break. This leaves me free to study and write, hopefully. Anachronism has been upp'd on my FFN account, and due to a different writing schedule, I've got some one-shots that are almost ready to go up.

I'm going to visit the Saturday School in Dublin over break, and see if there's some very slim chance that I can do some work over there. Does anyone know anything about it [aside from what you can find on the Web]?

I hardly ever have a Yuugiou dream [and for the record, I fell asleep listening to Art Bell take callers who then told ghost stories] so thanks, brain.

To begin, sennet and I were sitting in my television room at my parents house. We were talking about nothing, flipping through channels and being generally lazy. Suddenly she lands on this program featuring VERY familiar characters. We managed to catch most of the opening, and it had something to do with the Gate malfunctioning [ah, those Egyptians] and give both the Dark Bakura and Thief King Bakura their own, sepraate bodies.

The first part of the anime looked like it was set most during the AE RPG. Some of his priests were surrounding Atem [with Oathbreakers as background music] and telling him that they'd found Bakura. Cut to a cliffside, and a very nervous TK enveloped in Diabound's arms, and scrabbling at his chest. He was absolutly terrified of something.

Then Diabound disappeared into a giant manillia envelop when Atem arrived. Cut to eyecatch and commercials.

The next part opened in moderen Japan. Ryoh and TK were outside working around a car [and my Ryoh has something of a phobia concerning cars, so it's very strange to see him sitting in the front passanger seat of one]. Bat shows up and starts bothering them until Ryoh gets annoyed and force-flings a heavy box at him - effectivally shutting him up.

At this point, sennet and are pretty stunned. Conversation was sparse, and mostly wondering what the fuck we were watching. Now, she was sitting on the floor in front of the TV, and I was lying on the couch and watching upside-down for the most part. We started talking about how this might be another spinoff like CapMon, and I lamented that my VCR was a smoldering pile of burnt plastic [literally]. She started to get up to go to the bathroom or something, and I looked back at the screen.

"Sennet...look at the screen. LOOK AT THE SCREEN NOW~!" TK and Ryoh had moved to a bedroom, and were completely undressed and snuggled into bed together. Bat appeared and poked Ryoh's arm. His former Host responed by hitting him weakly with a pillow and then grabbing his wrist and pulling him down into the bed.

Then I woke up, jumped on my computer and typed this out. The art style was different from Duel Monsters. The coloring was soft, not cel-shaded. I can't think of anything to compare it to, because I don't have a good picture of the appearence of the characters in my mind - just and general sense of white hair pale/dark skin and various character-defining scars as opposed to an actual image.

So, yeah. I'm still WTF'ing, but I would be the last person to be opposed if something like this actually happened xD

I ♥ my elJay.

Title: [title]
Pairing: Yuugi/Ryoh
Rating: PG?
Notes: This fic is post-series and fits into the Sesen universe. Yuugi and Ryoh have somewhat of an established relationship by this point, but no one said it was a healthy and happy relationship.

"I wonder Yuugi-kun..." Ryoh began, holding the small bottle. "...what kind of lives could be contained in these pills."

Yuugi looked down, "what are you talking about?"

Ryoh inclined his head and smiled. "People change when they take drugs. Some are supposed to stop things from happening, and others are supposed to make...things...happen."

Yuugi snatched the bottle from his hand. "You didn't answer my question."

Ryoh sighed, "for instance: I used to take some brand of antipsychotics. The pills were supposed to control...the Other me. They changed me instead."

"Why?" Yuugi asked, reaching down to brush a few stray strands of hair from Ryoh's eyes.

Ryoh narrowed his eyes, "because he wasn't in my head."

"At least not in any way medication could help."

"Yeah..." Ryoh sat up and repositioned himself so he was lying next to Yuugi, and he wrapped his arms around the other boy tightly.

Yuugi smiled, and returned the hug. They were silent for awhile. Yuugi gently massaged the other boy's back. Ryoh sighed and Yuugi felt the warm breath on his neck. They stayed like that for several minutes.

Finally, he broke the comfortable silence. "Atemu gave me so much...I can't imagine my life without him. I'm glad I got the chance to help him." Yuugi said thoughtfully.

"I'm glad too...that you could help." Ryoh buried his head in Yuugi's chest. "I'm so relieved though, that it's all over. I don't want to be someone else. I want to be myself. ...and I want you to be yourself."

Yuugi smiled. "You wouldn't be who you are without him though. You would have different experiences, and you might even live in a different place. You'd be a different person. I would be someone else too." He sighed and stroked Ryoh's cheek with his thumb. "I guess we have to thank them for that."

"Okay..." Ryoh said uneasily. "I'm different because of him. I can't thank him though. He changed my life...but not all changes are good. People were terrified of me, Yuugi. There was nothing anyone could do. People just kept dying. You have no idea how that looks to a school official...or a police officer. Even now, I have to explain my school records from those years as I'm applying to college. People don't forget "little incidents" that make me look like a...serial killer." Ryoh hid his face to hide the tears.

"It...is difficult." Yuugi conceded. He stroked Ryoh's hair. "Regardless. He has made you a different person."

Ryoh shook his head. "I don't want to talk about this anymore." His voice was muffled by Yuugi's shirt.

"I think you do." Yuugi replied softly. Ryoh sniffed, and a hand came between them as he raised his hand to wipe his face.

"No, Yuugi-kun. I-I don't want to think about it. About him. That's all in the past. I feel weak when I think about how much I let him do. I should have fought harder! He shouldn't have been able to get control of me again!" Yuugi smiled sadly.

"I...don't want to see you hurt again. You know how ruthless he was. Every time you disobeyed him, you ended up in the hospital. If we hadn't been so concerned with finding Malik, then we would have been there to stop the other you..." Ryoh was shaking his head.

"They planned it. Malik and the other me. He had to hurt my body so I would appear weak and Malik...would appear strong." He shivered sharply in revulsion. "I know now that Malik was bad then. I remember hurting, and his hands in my hair as he waited for everyone else." The arms around Ryoh tightened protectively. "He was gripping my hair so tight and laughing like I was a prize, Yuugi-kun! I don't want to remember that, and I don't want to remember watching as the other you played the Dark RPG against me. None of it should have happened. I was strong enough to stop him...but I didn't. I was afraid of him."

"Are you still afraid of him?"

Ryoh nodded against his chest. "I'm afraid he'll come back. Even with the Ring gone, I'm scared that he's still in my head just...waiting."

"Why would he remain though? I thought he was only after the Items?"

"I...don't know. I know he wanted your Puzzle. He was also furious with me when I stole the Ring and left the Rod. Even with the other you gone...what's to say that he'll stay away? He's mad, Yuugi-kun. I can still hear him screaming about a "blood payment"." Ryoh's eyes met Yuugi's, "...a blood payment of what?"

Yuugi looked away. "It doesn't matter now. It's...better for you not to know. I'm certain he's gone now-" Ryoh pulled out of his embrace and sat up. "Ryoh?" He shook his head.

"'Better for me not to know'?" Ryoh laughed hollowly. "What could be worse than what he's done to me? Or do you stand to tell me that after all that, he had some kind of motivation that turns him into a tragic hero?" He was smiling thinly, and it was only to hold back the tears.

"Ryoh, please..." Yuugi sat up.

"What?" He responded with a hint of ice in his voice. "It's not like this is the first time you've hinted that something else happened in that game."

Yuugi matched his gaze. "It's not something I want to discuss with you right now. You said you wanted to forget about him. So let's do that. Let's just forget about him."

"No! Damn it, Yuugi-kun, that isn't what I meant and you know it!" The other boy sighed.

"I know...but it's really something I don't want to talk about now. Whatever motivations he had for doing what he did are inconsequential now. It's all in the past." Yuugi explained calmly - using Ryoh's words. "Frankly, I don't care about him, or even about Atem. They're gone. What matters now is you, Ryoh. You know I wouldn't withhold information from you just because I think you're too sensitive."

Ryoh sighed, and his shoulders dropped in defeat. "So...game or movie?"

"Movie." Ryoh nodded in agreement and they stood up at the same time. Yuugi held out his hand and internally breathed a sigh or relief when Ryoh took it. He led them out of the room and down the stairs.

Good god, I'm loud within a group.

To anyone who wonders: no, I am not ashamed to talk about cock in the middle of a jam-packed dinning hall at common hour and I do so willingly and often. It's fun to talk about the horrors of Art History alongside Laura's lamenting for a prostate.

...and I grew up and good Catholic girl.

Class so far has been fun, and I enjoy my teachers. I'm also not quite as far into the hole grade-wise as I thought I was. Yay for that. My extremely rough idea for my religion term paper is a comparison of images that depict Jesus in any number of ways. Of course, I'm hinging on principls of Sociology that I hope will be refreshed since my last and only S/A class was 2 years ago with the track coach at my High School.

Other than that...uh. Ryu Tiamat and I have identified how Bakura Ryoh might be a high-functioning autistic based on contextual evidence in the manga. Malik is also a dirty theif who cosplays the Farrow and spoons Ra in Duelist 11.

♥

Ohayocon

I spent all of last week making costumes [I have 3 to do and props]. We did have 3 hours of emergency prep on Friday to get the last props put together and spray-painted.

When we got there, everyone was just arriving, so we didn't spend a lot of time in line. Considering I spent 4 hours in the line for ACen, I am greatful for the short wait. Before we got registered, of course - we got our room and put our stuff down. I chose Jahairian to walk with and put all his bondage gear on him and carried him down. In line, 3 people came up to me. Two guys and a girl who all wanted to look at him. I explained what he was, showed off how he was put together and even let one person hold him.

There was more than plenty to do. Ohayocon's staff had put up the schedual on Thus, so everyone im my group already had an idea of what they wanted to do. Lisa and I checked out the Dealer's Room first. Because of our costumes, we wouldn't be able to carry bags or money on Sat. We decided first though, to look at the Artist Alley. I was stopped by three people at different tables with dolls or asking me about Jahairian. Then blakrose found us and we got into a discussion about Yuugiou and Lolita dress as I glued eyelashes in for another girl. Lisa wandered off about halfway through all this talking since I was there for about an hour and a half xD;

Blckrose followed me into the Dealer's Room and showed me thetable with Dollfie Dreams and Dollfie Pluses for sale. I didn't buy one, but they were very intresting alt. to barbies [they're barbie-size, jointed and have squishy boobs]. I did buy 3 Pinky-St. figures and a GIANT Tare Panda pillow. More people asked about Jahairian and I didn't find any pr0n involving Bakura. I swear the doujinshi dealers have some kind of fetish with SetoxDark/Yuugi >> <<;

Sat. night, I went to a Japanese horror film pannel. I think it's the "Happy Kamikuris" that I have to check out. It had a Zombie dance number. I wandered around a but after that, and Lisa picked up some contacts. I took her back to the room and she put them on. They're impressive. Pics follow at the end of this post.

I went to Main Programming and watched some of Midnight Maddness. I got the see ReDeath again, along with Fisting of the North Star. I have gained another saying. Then there was sleep.

Sat. I got everyone up at 8 and we spent 2 hours dressing. The costumes came out perfect save for Nikolai's...but that's because I made a fur wig instead of buying a white one. He also wore his boots as opposed to the sneakers he should have had.

We went down to the Doll Meetup, which consisted of a lot of people taking pictures and talking. I'll get pics of all the dolls up later, as I didn't have my camera with me at the time. Lisa and I wandered around and did nothing specific. We got our pictures taken a LOT and no one could correctly guess who I was. Ah well.

Sat. night was cosplay. I had really wanted to do a skit, but I lost a lot of people from the project [10 down to 2] so I didn't get a chance to put a skit together. Cosplay was...mediocher. Although Kumagoro did breakdance and do The Worm onstage x3 We didn't stay for the winners, and scooted to Bad Anime.

We also went to see Ghost Tales presented by two of the VAs. Ghost Tales is like a Japanese Scooby Doo. When the dubbing company got it's hand on it however...it's a totally different anime. There's no way to describe it. It was just damn funny. Best line from that for me: "My character's name is 'Leo'. In the original anime, his name is 'Ryo. R-Y-O.' ...and that's just dumb." I was amused. *pokes Bakura-kun*

Last thing we did on Sat. was "Who's Line is it Anime?". They wanted to keep it clean, but the audience decided it was No Holds Barred NC-17. Everyone had to show IDs to stay. They did skits for about an hour and a half until one member fell asleep. It was 3am, so the auidence was shooed away > 3;

Sunday was spent getting a present for Lisa and sleeping at home : D;

Cosplay notes:

The Scales actually worked. They were rigged to tip, and many souls did not pass xD

Because Japanese ghosts don't have feet: I was barefoot for all of Sat.

That Ring is an inch in diameter. It took 4 hours to make, and is made out of a metal ring, pop cans, clay, super-glue and spray paint : D;;;

I'm not a cosplay virgin anymore, wooo~

So we don't have a room for the Con but we do. My costumes aren't done yet, but Nikolai was finally restrung.

It's also been kind of a crappy week, and I've been yelled at for things I didn't think was even possible to get yelled at for. Especially in the least 24 hours. I'm just tired, and as a result, I'm very short with people, so I'm sorry if I upset you.

"I think I just killed all the monkeys in that barrel"

So, it was a glorious Jesus Day. We went over to my cousins, and watched her brother's kids tear into their 540 billion presents, while my brother and I got our usual giftcards. Got home, opened presents and watched "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" illegal DVDs [one of my presents] : D

I also got a new watch, some Pjs and a calander.

Then today, my brother and I went to the doctor. We went for psychological testing. For those that read this and don't know, we were both on medication for ADD like...forever ago. I think a lot of the shit that happened this past semester was just that old condition being excerbated by the stress of school and working too much. So, we went to see the psych. It's also worth mentioning that I hate my doctor with an undying passion. As a kid, he used to get on me about being overweight. ...and not just friendly little "you should excercise more". No. This guy was millitant. Now, I'm a stubborn person. I like to do things my own way, and I like to take care of myself on my own terms. Even as a kid, I was like this. This guy used to tell my parents that I needed to get on these expensive programs. I called bullshit.

So, barring a long rant on my physical condition, I'll get right down to the adventure of today. We talked to the psych, and I decided that I needed medication again. Of course, I have to go through the doctor to do it. Unpleasentness aside, everything I discussed with the psych can be fixed by the medication I used to take. Huzzah.
